Make ideas buildable

Join a team that transforms concepts into production‑ready solutions for the rubber and polymer industries. Since 1938, American Roller Company has set the standard in industrial rollers and coatings. Guided by the American Roller Way—safety, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement—we empower our people and enable customers to succeed. With multiple U.S. locations and a growing operation in Rock Hill, we’re seeking a hands‑on engineer who can connect CAD, cost, and craftsmanship.

Your mission

Own the journey from drawing to delivery. One moment you’ll refine a CAD model and finalize technical prints; the next you’ll be shoulder‑to‑shoulder with production validating a setup or turning a prototype on a manual machine. You’ll back proposals with solid estimating, keep project data tight with Microsoft Excel and Word, and communicate status and needs through Outlook. Above all, you’ll help streamline processes that raise accuracy and efficiency.

Core responsibilities
  • Develop and interpret CAD drawings and detailed technical prints.
  • Contribute to estimating for jobs and projects with data‑driven inputs.
  • Work closely with production and engineering to verify feasibility and precision.
  • Perform manual machining tasks to support prototyping and troubleshooting.
  • Leverage Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts to boost project throughput and quality.
  • Maintain strong, consistent presence on the shop floor—this role is intentionally hands‑on.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Proven experience with CAD software and technical drawing practices.
  • Background in manufacturing, machining, or another practical, hands‑on environment.
  • Estimating or cost analysis experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Sharp problem‑solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfort working directly in a production environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

If you’re energized by turning precise designs into real‑world results—and you enjoy equal time at the desk and on the floor—you’ll thrive here.
