About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading, growth-oriented manufacturer specializing in high-volume precision roll forming and advanced metal fabrication. This modern facility utilizes highly automated production lines to manufacture complex components for demanding industries where quality, consistency, and efficiency are critical. The operation features multiple precision roll forming lines designed for high-volume production while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality standards.
We're seeking an experienced Roll Forming Process Engineer who can optimize manufacturing processes, improve tooling performance, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement throughout the operation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot roll forming processes to improve quality, throughput, and efficiency.
- Evaluate existing tooling and manufacturing processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Lead new product launches from concept through production.
- Design, modify, and validate roll tooling and forming processes.
- Reduce scrap, improve first-pass yield, and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to resolve production issues.
- Support APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation activities.
- Analyze production data and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvements.
- Coordinate equipment installations, process improvements, and capital projects.
- Train production personnel on best practices, troubleshooting, and process controls.
- Work directly with suppliers and vendors regarding tooling, materials, and equipment improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with roll forming is required.
- Experience developing or troubleshooting roll tooling.
- Knowledge of high-volume automated manufacturing.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and metal forming principles.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) preferred.
- Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills.
