GoodWork Staffing in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Tech / Engineer for 1st and 2nd shift. Temp-to-hire, starting pay $30/hr. 1st shift 5:30am–4:00pm, 2nd shift 4:00pm–2:30am, Mon–Thu.

Role involves implementing new products, driving continuous improvement, and supporting production with robotics programming and process optimization. Requirements include a BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial) or related field with 0–3 years in manufacturing, CAD proficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or related field with 0–3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in plastics, paper mill, concrete, rubber, or food industry is a plus.
  • 2D CAD software proficiency required; 3D CAD knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of new products and product revisions for assigned tasks.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and OEE.
  • Create working drawings, digital files, CNC programming for tooling and assembly.
  • Program and troubleshoot robotics as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate changeovers and update PFMEA, QCP, and work instructions.

Manufacturing Maintenance Tech

Compensation: $30.00 - $30.00

Loading... We are looking for experienced Manufacturing Engineer for 1st and 2nd shift in the Kings Mountain, NC area. These positions are temp to hire depending on your work ethic, attendance and attitude. Pay is starting at $30/hr. 1st shift hours are 5:30am to 4:00pm (Mon - Thurs) - 2nd shift hours are 4:00pm to 2:30am (Mon - Thurs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the implementation of new products and product revisions for assigned project tasks.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing process-related continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Ensure all process developments and improvements meet the Quality Management System requirements.
  • Create working drawings/digital files/CNC programming as necessary for tooling, fixturing, molding, trimming, assembly, and other fabrication methods.
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot robotics.
  • Must possess a strong analytical approach to problem-solving to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Lead and work in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and an evident, identifiable work ethic.
  • Engage with the appropriate personnel to identify and resolve corrective/preventative actions to address quality, technical, and manufacturing issues.
  • Project Management – Accurate development, research, planning, timely delivery, and reporting for all project deliverables.
  • Keep current on new developments and technologies in assigned disciplines and proactively present new 'Best Practice' methodologies, procedures, processes, and equipment to the company.
  • Utilize various business software programs to create new and edit existing manufacturing floor work orders; update process standards; and analyze, troubleshoot, and trend historical process equipment and production data.
  • Led the Lean Kaizen and Six Sigma teams as necessary to increase production efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Work with outside vendors to develop new equipment and implement modifications to existing equipment.
  • Work closely with operations (including but not limited to maintenance and supply chain) daily to support the entire production floor through continuous improvements to processes and equipment, and clear and concise communication with line leaders and production personnel.
  • Lead the implementation of engineering changes at the operations level. Coordinate changeovers for materials and processes. Update PFMEA, QCP, and work instructions to ensure quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis for customer complaints and document them in an 8D while implementing corrective actions.
  • Responsible for process design for new product introductions. Coordinate team efforts during line trials for experimental formulas and compounds for new products, processes, or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Optimizes material yields to reduce waste and improve product quality.
  • Advocates the need to change materials to R&D to reduce costs from an inefficient process or excessive waste.
  • Optimizes a continuous process to reduce labor through lean or updating process technology.
  • Process improvements that ensure the workforce remains safe. Perform job hazard analysis and equipment start-ups before handoff to operations.
  • Assist with quoting an estimate for jobs for the commercial team.
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required:
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with proven leadership abilities.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or other related Engineering field, or comparable background with 0 – 3 years of experience in manufacturing settings.
  • Experience working in plastics, paper mill, concrete, rubber, or the food industry would be a plus.
  • 2D software proficiency required. 3D software experience is a plus. Preferences: 2D – AutoCad, 3D – Creo or Solidworks
  • High proficiency in creating advanced spreadsheets, utilizing macros, and developing forms with MS Excel and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Achievement of Six Sigma/Green Belt/Black Belt accreditation would be a distinct advantage, including but not limited to Lean Manufacturing experience and accreditation.
  • Proven project management experience with medium to large-scale/complex projects.
  • Possessing ERP and similar types of business information systems experience is very desirable.
  • Relevant experience with statistical process control and capability analysis is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, root cause analysis, and risk assessments with strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA and QCP tools.
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Minimal domestic travel (<10%).
  • Experience or ability to program Robotic systems.
  • Must possess a strong analytical approach to problem-solving to deliver innovative solutions.
