Job summary

Anduril Industries in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to design, optimize, and scale manual assembly processes for high-reliability defense products. You will create detailed work instructions, lead dispensing optimization, provide lineside support, and collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process development, preferably in a high-reliability industry.
• Demonstrated ability to create clear, detailed work instructions and process documentation.
• Experience optimizing manual assembly operations and establishing standardized work.
• Proven ability to analyze and improve processes using lean principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for quick solutions.
• Experience with dispensing technologies for adhesives or similar materials.
• Proficiency with CAD for assembly documentation and tooling design.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with MES and digital work instructions.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize manual assembly processes for high-volume, low-mix production.
• Create comprehensive manufacturing work instructions with clear visual aids.
• Engineer and optimize dispensing operations for adhesives and other materials.
• Provide active lineside production support to address deviations and maintain flow.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Evaluate process improvements to reduce cycle time and defects.
• Develop and validate process parameters with clear control limits.
• Support new product introductions with scalable processes.
• Participate in design reviews to provide manufacturing input.
• Utilize AS9100 standards to drive development and resolution.
