Job summary

Moderna is seeking an Engineer I for the Pilot Scale Operations team to support Formulations (Lipid Nanoparticle and Drug Product) pilot-scale production. The role emphasizes technology transfer, scale-up, SOP updates, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The position is site-based and requires hands-on work with fermentation, tangential flow filtration, and chromatography, along with strong communication and an emphasis on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in bioprocess development and technology transfer.
• BS/BA or MS in Chemistry, Systems, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or closely related field (0–2 years).
• Hands-on experience with fermentation, enzymatic reaction, chromatography and/or tangential flow filtration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive technology transfer from Process Development focusing on Formulations.
• Assist in defining process development and scale-up strategy; implement control strategies.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Formulations equipment.
