Job summary

Teradyne, a global test and automation leader, is seeking a Process Development Engineer for its Agoura Hills, CA facility. The role focuses on moving new products from concept to transfer to contract manufacturers, building assembly processes, and creating detailed documentation.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, SolidWorks expertise, and experience with Teamcenter and MS Office.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing engineering position.
• Knowledge of developing assembly processes flows from solid models, bills of material and other available design information.
• Knowledge of creating and maintaining detailed product assembly instructions.
• Experience developing mechanical tools and fixtures used in the assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
• Ability to design and document parts and assemblies in SolidWorks. Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
• Experience with Teamcenter.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite of tools, including: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site, in our Agoura Hills, CA facility.
• Ability to travel domestically/internationally as needed (0-10%).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering groups to resolve design issues early in development.
• Support timely transfer of new products to volume manufacturing.
• Build electro-mechanical assemblies to develop the assembly process flow and identify risks.
• Create detailed assembly process documents for pilot production and contract manufacturers.
• Design and qualify assembly tools and fixtures used in product assembly.
• Evaluate assembly issues and identify root causes with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers on packaging solutions for new products.
• Train personnel on proper assembly methods.
• Contribute to other department projects as required.
