Job summary

Evonik Industries AG in Blair, Nebraska is seeking a Process Development Engineer to drive continuous improvement of fermentation and downstream processes. You will analyze performance, lead plant trials, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve throughput, yield, efficiency, safety, and reliability.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and support site safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years in process engineering or production management of industrial chemical processes.
Experience with complex fermentation processes and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase plant throughput, yield, efficiency, and reliability.
Analyze process performance using statistical methods and data tools.
Initiate and manage pilot- and full-scale plant trials and implement improvements into production.
Lead process optimization, de-bottlenecking, and efficiency projects including equipment and product quality.
Support and execute capital projects focused on process efficiency and plant performance.
Facilitate root cause analyses for operational issues.
Coordinate development activities with R&D, Technology, Production, and other Evonik sites.
