Job summary

Evonik Corporation in Lafayette, IN seeks a Process Engineer to apply process engineering knowledge to support synthesis of starting materials pharmaceutical intermediates and final bulk products, ensuring safety, efficiency and environmental responsibility.

You will lead scale-up efforts, optimize processes, monitor performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable operations while upholding ESHS standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, related engineering, or Chemistry discipline.
• 10 years prior chemical or pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Experience in several production facilities with different scales and technology platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skill.
• Strong technical problem solving ability.
• Ability to influence groups without having supervisory responsibility.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skill.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: analyze performance data, identify inefficiencies, and drive improvements.
• Process Design & Scale-Up: lead design, implementation, and optimization of new processes including scale-ups.
• Operational Excellence (ESHS & Performance): uphold Environment, Safety, Health, and Sustainability standards.
• Technical Expertise & Problem Solving: apply engineering knowledge to troubleshoot, improve processes.
• Capacity Planning & Bottleneck Reduction: analyze capacity constraints and lead projects to increase throughput.
• Capital Planning & Project Leadership: recommend and lead capital investments and projects.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: work with customers and cross-functional teams to align solutions.
• Governance, Standards & Knowledge Sharing: stay current with regs and mentor team.
