Job summary

Amtex Enterprises Inc. seeks a Process Controls Engineer for a 2-year contract, onsite in Allentown, PA. Local candidates are preferred; travel of at least one trip per month across the East and West coasts is expected.

You will perform instrumentation and control device selection, PLC/DCS design, installation checkout, and system commissioning, with upgrades to Allen Bradley PLC5/SLC500 to CLX5000 and Siemens PCS7. Travel to site locations will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Control Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with automated control systems.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Siemens PCS 7, TIA portal, PLC 500, and SLC500.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel 20%-40%, mostly US domestic (East to West Coast).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering project team and production staff
• Implement system expansions and obsolescence replacement projects
• Allen Bradley PLC5 and SLC500 upgrades to CLX5000
• Siemens PCS7 HMI version upgrade and Controller Upgrades
• TIA Portal version upgrades to v20
• Travel to site locations for installation checkout and system commissioning
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
• Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards
