Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer in Allentown, PA, to lead conveyor, robotics, and integration projects from design through commissioning and customer support.

You will develop PLC and automation software, design electrical schematics, and configure HMI/SCADA systems while interfacing with customers and field teams. A strong background in industrial controls and 25–40% travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Strong Allen Bradley PLC programming experience.
• Experience designing systems to NEC, NFPA, UL and related standards.
• Experience creating electrical schematics and panel designs.
• Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems.
• Fieldbus communication technologies experience.
• Experience commissioning industrial automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel 25%–40%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support PLC and automation software solutions.
• Perform electrical hardware engineering and controls design.
• Create electrical schematics and panel designs.
• Design and support HMI and SCADA applications.
• Commission machinery, automation systems, and integrated solutions.
• Support startup activities and customer acceptance testing.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC systems.
• Configure motion control and servo systems.
• Support robotic integration projects.
• Assist with sales support, quoting, and conceptual design.
• Train customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Manage controls-related project deliverables and subprojects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues during implementation and support phases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards.
