Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Senior Process Controls Engineer for its Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA. You will design and support DCS/PLC automation, process instrumentation, and control devices to keep plants operating safely and reliably.

You will collaborate with North and South America facilities, lead improvements, and mentor other engineers. Travel 25–40% is required, and a BS in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years in process automation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• 12+ years of work experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering is required.
• Ability to travel 25%-40%, mainly in the Americas, mostly US domestic (East to West Coast).
• Flexibility to be on call: 24/7/365 support for facilities, with 15 team member rotation.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting urgent and immediate operational needs for remote facilities; PID, DCS and PLC control logic, and Operator Control Stations.
• Safely implementing improvement projects with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting maintenance outages for routine PM tasks or upgrades.
• Supporting improvement and optimization of assets, addressing obsolescence, and meeting safety and cost goals.
• Developing and supporting strategic long-range planning for safety, reliability, productivity and obsolescence across facilities.
