Job summary

CAI in Allentown, PA is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to execute projects that maintain and improve automated control systems within operating facilities.

This full-time, onsite role requires experience with PLC/SCADA, Siemens PCS7, TIA Portal, and related upgrades, with travel across the US. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Control Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with automated control systems.
• 2+ years’ experience with Siemens PCS 7, TIA Portal, PLC 5/SLC 500.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel 20-40% (US domestic).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi‑discipline engineering project team and production staff.
• Implement system expansions and obsolescence replacement projects.
• Upgrade Allen Bradley PLC5 and SLC500 to CLX5000.
• Upgrade Siemens PCS7 HMI and Controller; upgrade to TIA Portal v20.
• Travel to site locations for installation checkout and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues while ensuring safety and quality standards.
