Job summary

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) in Aiken, South Carolina is seeking Process Controls Engineers or Technical Specialists to design and maintain DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, enabling real-time or simulated control of plant production at the Savannah River Site.

Qualifications

• Process control system and instrumentation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field for Engineer level.
• Alternative: Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology for Specialist level.

Responsibilities

• Gather information on capabilities of process control systems.
• Analyze customer problems and design systems to fit needs.
• Prepare equipment analysis to instruct customers on capabilities.
• Document, test, and maintain software and systems with controls.
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve program intent and data acquisition.
• Prepare operating instructions for assigned work.
• Conduct research and testing of hardware related to process controls.
• Ensure reliability and test hardware conformance to specs.
• Design new or modify existing products per detailed instructions.
• Test and maintain software/firmware in process control systems.
• Apply standards and tools across the system.
• Review developments from higher level developers/managers.
• Other duties as assigned.
