Job summary

Hexion is seeking a Process Controls Engineer in Fayetteville, NC to support the Process Controls Manager and group in improving control processes and technologies. You will help develop new apps, document standards, and interface with manufacturing networks to provide cutting-edge data analysis and control strategies.

The role requires experience with Allen Bradley PLC and Emerson DeltaV, plus strong technical writing and leadership in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

• BS chemical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in process controls.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience with control systems architecture and programming.
• Experience in batch and continuous chemical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards and protocols for review by the process controls group.
• Lead projects to design and specify instrument and controls equipment.
• Provide senior-level support for instrument and control activities remotely.
• Develop software upgrade programs and manage DCS reliability.
• Assist the controls engineering manager with reliability calculations for safety instrumentation.
• Understand and design networking issues at IT and IoT level.
• Lead and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Support regional specialists in troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Apply mathematical analysis to design AI-driven models for process improvement.
• Experience with TwinThread or similar machine analysis software desirable.
