Job summary

Weyerhaeuser seeks a Process Control Engineer for our Timberstrand facility in Monticello, AR. This full-time exempt role partners with maintenance and plant teams to set up and maintain automation across manufacturing processes, serving as the site automation expert.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and clear communication, with responsibility for leading projects, mentoring engineers, and driving cost reductions through process improvements.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field; or 5–7 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience applying process control solutions in manufacturing.
• Proven success in applying process control for product improvement and cost reduction.
• Advanced PLC/HMI knowledge with programming and configuring complex automation strategies.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects with site and corporate engineers.
• Ability to collaborate with associates at all levels including operators and managers.
• Extensive understanding of dynamic process behavior and data analysis.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support process control best practices across the plant and with mill leadership.
• Share industry best practices for control systems and applications.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Provide project and technical leadership for control technology applications and technicians.
• Act as a site expert on automation platforms and mentor others.
• Lead reviews of technology opportunities for potential manufacturing applications.
• Build relationships with corporate process control resources and external suppliers.
• Partner with leaders to align project portfolios with business goals.
