Job summary

Weyerhaeuser’s Monticello, AR Timberstrand facility is seeking a Process Control Engineer to join a safety-first team and drive automation across manufacturing processes. You’ll set up, maintain, and optimize control systems, acting as site expert and leading cross-functional projects to improve efficiency and safety.

The role requires a BS in Engineering (or related) and 3+ years in process control with strong PLC/HMI expertise, plus excellent communication. Relocation is available.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in applying and supporting process control solutions in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success in developing and applying process control solutions for process/product improvement and cost reduction.
• Advanced level knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and related systems with proficiency in programming and configuring complex automation strategies.
• Ability and desire to lead cross-functional projects with site and corporate engineering personnel.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Capacity to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and support process control best practices and strategies.
• Share industry best practices for manufacturing control systems and applications.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, variability reduction and cost reduction.
• Provide project and technical leadership for local and system-wide process control technology.
• Serve as a key resource for projects to install and apply new control technology and training.
• Build relationships with corporate process control resources.
• Partner with manufacturing and business leaders to align projects with goals.
• Mentor and assist development of other engineers and technicians.
