International Paper Company in Prattville, Alabama is seeking a Process Control Engineer to design, implement, and optimize process control systems within our manufacturing environment. You will develop control strategies, configure DCS/HMI, and lead projects from design through startup.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience (5 preferred). Skills in PID, APC, MPC, and tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and AutoCAD are important, as is collaboration

Formación

• Education: Engineering bachelor degree in a related field.
• 3+ years process control engineering experience; 5+ preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PID, APC, MPC and DCS/HMI systems.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ISA/IEC/NFPA standards and SAP is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement process control systems to improve efficiency and quality.
• Program, configure, and maintain DCS and HMI systems.
• Develop and implement advanced control strategies (PID, APC, MPC).
• Monitor control system performance and process data.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
• Lead projects from design through commissioning and startup.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Prepare P&IDs, control narratives, and system specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Implement and maintain safety instrumented systems.
