Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. offers a 2027 Summer Internship in Process Automation Engineering across multiple site locations. The program targets full-time students and recent graduates, running May through August with a paid, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or higher in Process Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Recent graduate within 12 months with a degree in Process/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Highly accurate and detail oriented.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, provides technical knowledge and guidance for designated interface groups.
• Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control systems and equipment.
• Interface between staff engineers, external technical representatives, operations, and maintenance personnel.
• Actively participates in safety and environmental programs and other programs determined by management.
• Perform other duties as required.
