Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. invites applicants to a 2027 Summer Skilled Trades Internship as a Process Automation Technician across sites in AZ, CO, NM and TX.

This paid, temporary program runs May through August and seeks students or recent graduates pursuing electronics, electrical or instrumentation credentials. You'll gain hands-on experience interfacing with technicians, engineers and maintenance teams, while learning installation, calibration, diagnostics and programing of automation systems in

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in electronics, electrical, instrumentation or relevant field.
• Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with an associate degree or certification in electronics, electrical, instrumentation or relevant field.
• Ability to understand, apply and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English.
• Work in office, mine, or manufacturing plant settings with exposure to temperature, humidity, and hazards.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces between technicians, engineers, operations and maintenance personnel.
• Assist with installation, calibration, diagnostics, and maintenance of industrial automation equipment, including instrumentation, industrial communications, and control systems.
• Assist with, troubleshoot, design, and program process automation systems.
• Gain exposure to project management and maintenance workflow processes.
• Actively participate in safety and environmental programs.
