With Wonder, you can mix and match hundreds of dishes from 20+ exclusive restaurants in a single order, so everyone gets exactly what they’re craving. Enjoy everything from tacos to Thai with $0 delivery fees, plus dine-in or pick up at a Wonder location near you. Each dish is made to order on-site by our culinary team and served hot. Behind the scenes, Wonder owns and operates every step of the dining experience, from recipe development to the technology that powers our experience, allowing us to deliver quality, variety, and consistency at scale. Join us as we work to make great food more accessible.

About The Opportunity

Our Back of House (BOH) Development, Design, and Procurement team is seeking a versatile problem-solver for a project-based internship in data analysis and process improvement. You’ll join the small internal BOH team, which exists within the Construction and Design/Development team at Wonder. The role touches many parts of the organization, providing mentorship from multiple leadership levels. You will apply analytical skills to a physical, real-world environment, shaping purchasing decisions and redesigning workflows that get tested directly on job sites. The Impact You Will Make

Day-to-Day Responsibilities and Activities
  • Perform data cleaning, structuring, and analysis in Python and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Build and iterate on dashboards and process tools based on user feedback
  • Communicate progress and findings to internal stakeholders and team leadership
  • Meet with Operations or Construction Project Managers to gather data or feedback on their processes and pain points
  • Test and refine workflows directly with field and vendor team
Initial Focus and Key Deliverables (Post-Joining)
  • Procurement Analysis Example Project: Clean historical equipment cost data and build a dashboard for data visualization, enabling estimators to identify pricing trends, bulk-order thresholds, vendor reliability, and lead times.
  • Punch List Re-engineering Example Project: Shadow field teams to research current workflows, then design and pilot a mobile friendly, construction punch list process capturing photos, location, and assigned trades.

Defining Success: These are example projects, the actual projects will be determined when the internship starts. Wonder will provide a clear vision for success and welcome input from the candidate on project scope and success criteria. By the end of the internship: ship at least one working project and present the results to the team.

Tangible Requirements and Essential Job Duties

  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision and proactively asking questions to clarify scope
  • Willing to spend time on active job sites in addition to standard desk-based work
  • Open to feedback and iteration from mentors and cross-functional partners
  • Communicate progress clearly and flag blockers early
  • Comfortable with using AI tools to accelerate learning
What You Bring to the Table
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (preferred, not required)
  • Prior internship experience preferred - a strong stepping stone toward a career in data analytics, operations, or process design
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysis
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills for building functional, scalable tools
  • Data visualization and dashboard-building experience
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving - comfortable turning ambiguous, real-world problems into structured systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical, internal and external audiences
  • Adaptable and collaborative, with an eagerness to learn from mentors at multiple levels of the team
