Job summary

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Edwardsville, IL. This full-time role emphasizes perioperative care in a structured outpatient setting, focused on safety, efficiency, and excellent patient outcomes.

You will provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care, collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff, maintain sterile technique, and ensure accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• RN required; graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Current BLS certification required.
• OR experience preferred.
• New graduates welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Providing pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care
• Performing patient assessments and preparing patients for surgery
• Assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists during procedures
• Maintaining sterile technique and ensuring a safe surgical environment
• Monitoring patients and responding to changes in condition
• Supporting smooth workflow and efficient surgical case management
• Ensuring accurate documentation and continuity of care
