Job summary

University of Michigan’s Michigan Medicine is hiring a Registered Nurse for the University Hospital-Medical Procedures Unit in Ann Arbor. The RN will deliver compassionate care to adults undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy and pulmonary procedures, coordinating care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases under supervision.

Requirements include Michigan RN licensure, ACLS, 2 years relevant RN experience, strong communication and Epic EHR skills, and physical ability to stand for long

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Michigan.
• Two years RN experience in Procedures, Preop/PACU, ICU, ED, Sedation Analgesia, Flight Nursing, or OR within past five years.
• ACLS current.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Experience documenting in an EHR (Epic) in the last five years.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to adult patients in UH MPU.
• Coordinate nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases.
• Assist with endoscopy procedures and room turnover.
• Administer sedation/analgesia under physician direction.
• Assess and document hemodynamic status during sedation and post-procedure.
• Educate patients and families and provide discharge teaching.
• Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, prioritization, and teamwork.
