Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a registered nurse to support Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Pulmonary Procedures. The role requires coordinating pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care, possibly directing other nurses and staff, and administering sedation under physician supervision.

Ideal candidates will have ACLS, 2+ years of RN experience in relevant specialties, and strong communication skills, with proficiency in Epic EHR and a commitment to patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) to practice nursing in Michigan.
• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in the past five years in procedures, Preop/PACU, ICU, ED, Sedation Analgesia, Flight Nurse, or OR.
• ACLS certification required.
• Ability to stand for an extended period.
• Experience with electronic health records (Epic) demonstrated in last five years.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.
• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing Gastrointestinal Endoscopy or Pulmonary Procedures.
• Coordinate nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases; may direct other RNs and staff.
• Assist with endoscopy procedures, endoscope management, and room turnover per infection policy.
• Administer sedation/analgesia under physician supervision.
• Monitor hemodynamics during sedation and post-procedure phases; initiate IV lines.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge teaching.
