Job summary

The Department of Corrections is seeking a Probation and Parole Officer to manage a caseload of adult offenders, assess criminogenic needs, design transition plans, and monitor supervision in the community to increase public safety.

Typical duties include conducting investigations, preparing activity reports, collecting financial obligations, and supporting offenders in reintegration through employment assistance and pro-social activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of adult offenders, conducting motivational interviewing to assess criminogenic risk/need and determine stage of change for each identified need; refer to appropriate treatment and programs; monitor adherence to transition plans and conditions.
• Assist offenders in obtaining and maintaining employment; provide ongoing support in the community with pro-social networks; document progress and outcomes.
