Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks an Assistant Judicial District Manager I for Henderson County. You will supervise Chief Probation/Parole Officers and clerical staff, conduct audits, and train new CPPOs while coordinating workflows.

This role supports the Judicial District Manager by leading program operations, applying Evidence Based Practices and JRA, and representing the district on community boards. Frequent travel is required and a background check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years as Probation/Parole Officer, or Corrections Administrator in policy interpretation and procedures
• One year as Chief Probation/Parole Officer, Corrections Supervisor, or Corrections Program Administrator in a consultative capacity
• Must be eligible for certification by the NC CJ Education & Training Standards Commission
• Experience with policy interpretation and procedure development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise Chief Probation/Parole Officers and clerical staff; audit CPPOs.
• Train new CPPOs and coordinate workflow.
• Assist Judicial District Manager in district operations and programs; lead in applying Evidence Based Practices and JRA.
• Serve on community boards and liaison with stakeholders to support goals.
• Conduct internal investigations and manage disciplinary matters.
• Prepare reports including firearm inspections and inventory.
