Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a Judicial Services Coordinator (S) to handle probation case intake, document processing, and court-related coordination in the community supervision program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an accredited institution.
• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field with two years of relevant experience; or equivalent training.
• High school or GED and four years of related court system or paralegal experience; or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Accept, inspect and process legal documents for new probation cases.
• Review court judgments and match offenders to needs considering history, age, and transportation.
• Interview offenders to obtain background to develop treatment and sanction recommendations.
• Refer offenders to support agencies when needed and maintain case files.
• Negotiate agreements and place offenders with agencies for community service work.
• Prepare reports and maintain thorough documentation; interact with judiciary and public.
