Job summary

East Tennessee Human Resource Agency, Inc. is seeking a Probation Officer to supervise misdemeanor offenders and coordinate probation activities in Union County.

The role includes maintaining relationships with court officials and assisting with offender registration, data reporting, and monitoring through urine screens and electronic devices. The position covers oversight of classes like anger management, DUI, DV, and substance awareness, with standard Monday–Friday hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field.
• At least four years of experience in Criminal Justice or social services providing counseling.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise misdemeanor offenders to ensure compliance with probation orders.
• Maintain working relationships with sessions and criminal court officials.
• Assist with registration of misdemeanor offenders.
• Maintain and submit data for monthly and quarterly reports for the Misdemeanor Probation Program.
• Collect and deposit fees, conduct random urine screens, and coordinate use of electronic monitoring devices.
• Provide oversight of and assist with classes including anger management, DUI, domestic violence, and awareness programs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Administration, Social Work, or Behavioral Sciences;
• Must have at least four years of experience in Criminal Justice or a social services agency providing counseling services; or
• Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
