Job summary

The New Jersey Judiciary’s Monmouth Vicinage Probation Division seeks a candidate with strong interpersonal, customer service, problem-solving, reasoning, written communication and technical skills to support behavioral change efforts.

Responsibilities include coordinating services for clients, monitoring treatment plans, advising judges, preparing cases for hearings and maintaining thorough case notes in a team-driven environment. Housing for remote work is available up to 2 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field including 24 credit hours in behavioral or social sciences.
• Applicants may apply if nearing graduation date; must complete degree by start date.
• Submit transcript copy with application; official transcript required before start date.
• Degrees from outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized service.
• Veterans status: indicate veteran status in cover letter or resume.
• Physical ability requirements may include lifting up to 75 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Driver's license required if operation of a vehicle is necessary.
• Authorization to work in the US; US citizenship not required.
• Background check including fingerprinting required for newly hired employees.
• Residency requirement: must establish NJ residency within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate client behavioral change.
• Identifying client case management needs and informing clients about available services.
• Coordinating services for clients and monitoring case flow and treatment plans.
• Advising judges regarding case status and issues, analyzing case histories and conferring with team members.
• Preparing cases for hearing and interviewing clients; writing case notes and assigning cases to tracks.
• Analyzing and screening cases per laws and regulations; reviewing and enforcing court orders.
• Researching cases to resolve problems and coordinating with reporting systems for timely addressing.
• Administering client drug screenings and performing field work including home, school, jail, and community visits.
• Other related duties including occasional late-night reporting.
