Qualifications

• Associate degree with coursework in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, social work or other behavioral science.
• Two years of experience working with the public, keeping records, interpreting and applying laws, and working with diverse populations.
• Prior experience with case work, behavioral assessments, law enforcement, custodial/commissions is desirable.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Driver's License by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deputy Probation Officers with caseload management activities, including reviewing cases and scheduling appointments.
• Prepare information contracts and enter progress notes in case files.
• Conduct routine data inquiries and enter information in law enforcement databases.
• Maintain program statistics and prepare reports.
• Interview adult and juvenile offenders and family members to explain supervision terms.
