Job summary

Yellow Door Vacation Rentals is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician/Handyman to care for vacation rental properties in the Chattanooga area. The role is hands-on and requires comfort working independently to troubleshoot and complete common repairs.

Ideal candidates will have handyman experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to use basic mobile apps for work orders and documentation. On-call evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Handyman and maintenance experience required.
• Walk into a property, assess problems, determine next steps, and complete repairs within skill set.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in occupied and unoccupied properties.
• Basic technology skills and willingness to use work-order apps for photos, communication, and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete general handyman and property maintenance repairs.
• Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, appliance, HVAC, lock, and household issues.
• Perform minor repairs, replacements, installations, adjustments, and touch-ups.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and property inspections.
• Identify issues before they become larger repairs or guest problems.
• Respond to maintenance issues during guest stays.
• Coordinate with the team on access, scheduling, and repair priorities.
• Know when to escalate to licensed/specialized contractors.
• Document work with before-and-after photos.
• Track labor time and materials per property.
• Provide receipts for materials purchased.
• Create basic invoices and use scheduling/communication apps.
