Job summary

Wyandot Snacks, a long-standing snack foods manufacturer in Marion, OH, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and develop a maintenance team across multiple shifts. You will drive reliability, root-cause problem solving, and safety practices to keep production running smoothly.

The role emphasizes coaching technicians, prioritizing maintenance activities, and collaborating with Production Supervisors and other departments to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with industrial maintenance and repair.
• Experience with electrical systems, controls, automation, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Computerized maintenance management system experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
• Ability to work the assigned shift in a 24/7, multi-shift manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians on your assigned shift.
• Set clear expectations for safety, quality, workmanship, communication, and accountability.
• Establish maintenance priorities based on safety, production needs, equipment condition, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment.
• Drive root-cause problem solving and permanent corrective actions.
• Support and improve preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Production Supervisors to minimize production disruptions.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, correctly, and to a high standard.
• Ensure effective shift handoffs and communication across the maintenance team.
• Promote a strong safety and food-safety culture.
• Utilize computerized maintenance systems and maintain accurate maintenance records.
