Maintenance Supervisor

Management Marion - Wyandot Ave, Marion, OH, US

2 days ago Requisition ID: 1009

About Wyandot Snacks

Wyandot Snacks is a private-label and contract snack food manufacturer located in Marion, Ohio. For more than 90 years, we have partnered with leading and emerging brands to create innovative, high-quality snack foods.

Our people are at the heart of what we do. We believe in safety, teamwork, quality, innovation, and developing our people, while creating an environment where employees can contribute, grow, and take pride in their work.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who is a proactive leader, strong problem solver, and mechanically minded professional.

This is a key role in our manufacturing operation. You will lead and develop maintenance technicians, improve equipment reliability, and partner with Production to keep our operation running safely and efficiently.

We are hiring Maintenance Supervisors across multiple shifts to provide strong leadership, consistency, and accountability throughout our operation.

The right person won't simply react to breakdowns. They will think ahead, solve problems at their root, develop their people, and drive lasting improvements.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Build an engaged, accountable, and highly capable maintenance team.
  • Develop technicians through coaching, training, and cross-training.
  • Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Identify recurring equipment problems and eliminate their root causes.
  • Help technicians make sound decisions and take ownership.
  • Build strong working relationships with Production Supervisors, Quality, and other departments.
  • Create consistency and effective communication across multiple shifts.

Our Maintenance Philosophy

At Wyandot, we believe “if you fix it right, you only fix it once.”

We expect our maintenance team to look beyond the immediate repair, understand why a failure occurred, and make the right repair or improvement so we don't continue fixing the same problem. We value quality workmanship, root-cause thinking, and permanent solutions over quick fixes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians on your assigned shift.
  • Set clear expectations for safety, quality, workmanship, communication, and accountability.
  • Establish maintenance priorities based on safety, production needs, equipment condition, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment.
  • Drive root-cause problem solving and permanent corrective actions.
  • Support and improve preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production Supervisors to minimize production disruptions.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, correctly, and to a high standard.
  • Ensure effective shift handoffs and communication across the maintenance team.
  • Promote a strong safety and food-safety culture.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance systems and maintain accurate maintenance records.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive — You look for problems before they become breakdowns.
  • Mechanically minded — You enjoy understanding how equipment works and solving problems.
  • A problem solver — You don't settle for repeatedly fixing the same issue.
  • A servant leader — You develop people, remove obstacles, and give your team the tools to succeed.
  • Accountable — You take ownership and follow problems through to resolution.
  • A team player — You understand that Maintenance and Production succeed by working together.
  • Continuous-improvement minded — You are always looking for safer, better, and more reliable ways to operate.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance and repair.
  • Experience with electrical systems, controls, automation, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Computer and computerized maintenance management system experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift in a 24/7, multi-shift manufacturing operation.

Why Join Wyandot?

This is an opportunity to do more than manage maintenance tasks. You'll help build a stronger maintenance team, develop people, improve equipment reliability, and shape a proactive maintenance culture.

If you take pride in developing people, solving problems at their root, and getting the job done right the first time, we'd like to talk with you.
