Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company seeks a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively hunt threats across networks, endpoints, and security datasets. You will analyze logs, establish baselines, and develop hypotheses to strengthen threat detection and response.

The role collaborates with SOC analysts, develops automation using Python/PowerShell, and studies TTPs to improve incident handling and resilience across enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, CS, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or related security role.
• Experience performing system administrator-level analysis across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across networks, endpoints, and security datasets to identify threats.
• Analyze logs from multiple sources to detect suspicious behavior and validate threat activity.
• Establish and maintain baseline patterns for normal traffic and system activity to improve anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to recommend new alerts, analytics, and monitoring logic.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows (using Python, PowerShell, or SOAR) to streamline threat hunting tasks.
• Research adversary tactics and procedures to develop investigative leads based on threat intelligence.
• Support incident response by creating documentation, follow-up actions, and recommendations.
• Examine and characterize malware to determine threat nature and potential impact.
• Apply reverse engineering and binary analysis to support vulnerability research.
