Recreation Centers Of Sun City West Inc is seeking an experienced pro-shop associate in Sun City West, AZ. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service and managing daily golf-related operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle sales, scheduling, and guest experiences, while complying with food and alcohol service policies and maintaining accurate cash handling at shift end. A High School diploma and golf operations experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in golf operations or equivalent.
  • Retail experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working in an active adult community highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide impeccable customer service and handle complaints effectively.
  • Manage tee-time scheduling and guest flow using proprietary software.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions with accuracy at end of day reconciliation.
  • Assist with product promotions and upsell golf-related merchandise and concessions.
  • Ensure knowledge of golf fees, cart rentals, merchandise, and F&B policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness to include the ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness and pivot service as needed.
  • Superior capabilities to handle complaints and support conflict resolutions.
  • Use of proprietary software to schedule, assign and announce tee times for golfers ensuring start and flow of play is managed.
  • Extensive use of computers while providing time sensitive customer service transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsible for end of day process and procedures including reconciliation of cash and credit transactions.
  • Creativity to create suggestions for product promotions and assists and makes suggestions to customers to enhance their experiences.
  • In-Depth knowledge of all aspects of the pro-shop environment including but not limited to golf fees, golf cart rentals, merchandise, food and beverage concessions. Includes food and alcohol sales in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Significant cash transactions requiring the ability to handle paper and coin monies and count back change.
  • Ability to explain course policies, procedures and rules. Exercises good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations during shifts.
  • Operates and cleans all food and beverage equipment in pro-shop and patio areas.
  • Must flex duties and responsibilities and multitask throughout shift.
  • Must follow preventative maintenance guidelines regarding cart fleet.
  • Assist with janitorial duties in and around the clubhouse and cart storage area as needed.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work required with an ability to work a flex schedule and duties.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Maintains a regular and consistent record of onsite attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises employees in their assigned workspace under the guidance and final approval of the Pro Shop Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or general education degree required
  • 2 years of experience in a golf operations, golf pro-shop or equivalent type experience required
  • Experience working in a retail space highly preferred
  • Experience working and servicing in an active adult community highly preferred
  • Must have advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite to include Publisher and Excel
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must obtain and maintain for duration of employment, an Arizona Food Handlers Card
  • Must obtain and maintain for duration of employment, an Arizona Liquor Law Training Certification
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record for insurance purposes
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license must be maintained at all times
  • Must obtain and maintain for duration of employment, a Certified Food Protection Managers Card within 30 days of hire
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office and golf course settings with moderate to loud noise levels. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The following are representative illustrations of requirements-sitting or standing for extended periods of time in both an office setting, golf course venues, indoor and outdoor, potentially, limited offsite locations to and from their assigned work area and includes various weather conditions to include extreme heat.

On occasion, the individual may be required to lift up to 50 pounds independently, anything greater than 50 pounds with assistance.

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel, touch, move, or operate objects and tools to include computers and office equipment. Vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
