Zachry Group in Texas City is seeking a Combination Welder to weld, fabricate and assist pipe fitters in installing industrial piping systems. You will support fitters, rigging, and have process piping knowledge.

Requirements include 4+ years welding experience, ability to weld in 2g/4g/6g, Stick/TIG welding on pipe, and current Zachry certification or pass a weld test. Physical work with PPE and climbing may be required.

Competenze

• Must read blueprints and engineering drawings for efficient work.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals as applicable.
• 4+ years of welding on industrial pipe (schedules 10/40/80/160).
• Ability to weld in 2g, 4g and 6g conditions.
• Stick and TIG weld on pipe.
• Knowledge of metals and welding processes and effects on material.
• Current welding certification with Zachry or pass weld test.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless, chrome and inconel.
• Help pipe fitters with installation, prep and fabrication while not actively welding.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work at heights.

• Selects equipment, plans layouts, assembly and welding using geometry and metal properties.
• Layout, position, align, cut, assemble and fit metal components in various positions.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts with arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or arc gas welding.
• Weld metals to piping systems using appropriate procedures for materials involved.
• Identify equipment and safety risks for the job.
