Job summary

AVA Inc. in Miami seeks a Sales Engineer to help pro AV installers adopt and sell AVA control systems, including AVA Cinema Remote. You will blend design, deployment, and post-install support with ongoing customer training.

The role requires strong technical skills in home theaters, deep knowledge of CI/Pro AV channels, and willingness to travel about 75% within your territory, collaborating with Sales and Support to deliver reliable, intuitive systems.

Qualifications

• :3–5+ years of professional experience in AV systems engineering, commissioning, or integration.
• Familiar with CI and Pro AV channel, both the business and the technical.
• Strong knowledge of residential automation and control platforms.
• Experience with automation configuration, logic, and user interfaces.
• Understanding of IP networking, structured cabling, and network troubleshooting.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers and internal teams.
• Travel ~75%, mainly using personal vehicle (reimbursed per) within territory; occasionally by air.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, commission, and validate AV and control systems.
• Develop system architecture and ensure proper functionality across audio, video, control, and networking components.
• Troubleshoot complex system-level issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide technical guidance during deployment and post-installation.
• Assist in developing intuitive user interfaces that deliver clean, user-friendly control experiences.
• Report back on feedback from dealers, owners, and partners on how to improve current products and opportunities for AVA to deliver on new products and features.
• Work closely with Sales on customer opportunities, solution design, competitive positioning, and market development.
• Partner with Technical Support to resolve complex hardware and software issues.
• Support regional and national trade shows, customer training events, and technical demonstrations.
• Travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
