Job summary

Akumin, a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, is hiring a PRN Radiologic (X-Ray) Technologist for its South Florida facilities. You will produce diagnostic radiographic images for medical interpretation and assist licensed practitioners in exams, while complying with privacy laws and company policies.

Flexibility is required to respond to coverage requests, with at least one shift every 30 days.

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification required where applicable.
• State license, if applicable, required.
• CPR/BLS certifications required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations and travel as needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician and in compliance with legal requirements.
• Demonstrate competency with differing X-ray equipment and communicate with patients and radiologists.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality regarding patients, family and staff.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EMR, PACS and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists and patient coordinators as needed.
• Complete annual and ongoing site-specific competencies and in-services as designated by leadership.
• Cover shifts as a per-diem technologist as requested by leadership.
