Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist for Saturday and Sunday coverage in a skilled nursing setting. The RT will evaluate and treat geriatric residents, operate respiratory equipment, and participate in care planning with the IDT.

Candidates must hold a state license (RRT or CRT) and BLS, with experience in long-term care and tracheotomy care preferred. Strong independent assessment and documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory assessments and implements techniques for rehab of patients.
• Initiates therapies, maintains patient records, operates and assembles equipment.
• Delivers bedside treatments and participates in staff in-services quarterly.
• Attends IDT meetings and ensures daily/weekly/monthly documentation.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
