Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The role requires licensure in the state, independence in evaluation and treatment, and a passion for geriatric care.

You will complete assessments, initiate therapies, document thoroughly, and participate in IDT meetings; prior tracheotomy experience and long-term care familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state where practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and therapies to rehab patients with diverse conditions.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and participate in quarterly nursing staff in-services.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly documentation and attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy care and long-term care settings.
• Adhere to facility procedures and manage caseloads and audits.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
