Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team in New York. This weekend schedule focuses on Saturday and Sunday coverage, with opportunities for growth and collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team to support geriatric residents.

The ideal candidate is licensed in the state, experienced with tracheotomy care, and able to perform treatments independently while maintaining thorough documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT and BLS certified.
• Licensed in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to rehabilitate patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and in-services for nursing staff.
• Maintain daily, weekly, monthly documentation and participate in IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
• Follow facility procedures and perform caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
