Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Brentwood, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our compassionate geriatric care team. You will assess residents, initiate therapies, monitor equipment and document care in collaboration with nursing staff.

Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care is preferred. We value independence, adherence to procedures and the ability to participate in IDT meetings to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques for rehab of residents with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation; attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy; long-term care setting; follow facility procedures.
• Track, audit, and manage caseload; perform related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
