Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team. The role covers Saturday and Sunday shifts with high patient contact and independent clinical decision making.

Responsibilities include completing assessments, initiating therapies, operating and maintaining equipment, documenting care, and participating in IDT meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program
• Licensed as RRT or CRT
• Licensed in the state of practice
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to evaluate and rehab patients
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience in a long-term care setting
• Follow facility procedures and protocols
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
