Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team. The position requires state license, independent assessment and treatment, and a passion for improving residents' respiratory health.

Weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) with opportunities to participate in IDT meetings, perform bedside treatments, document routinely, and support nursing staff in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state where practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to rehab/maintain patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and check equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Conduct in-services for nursing staff each quarter.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Track, audit and manage caseload.
• Perform related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
