Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team, covering Saturday and Sunday.

The RT will assess and implement therapies, operate respiratory equipment, and maintain documentation in a skilled nursing environment.

Licensure in NY and BLS required; prior long-term care experience preferred; tracheotomy experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedures and protocols of the facility.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.
