Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team. The RT will independently assess and treat residents, perform therapies, and document care while coordinating with nursing staff and IDT meetings.

Candidates must hold an active state license (RRT or CRT) and have experience in geriatric respiratory care; familiarity with tracheotomy is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• Experience in long-term care settings; knowledge of geriatric respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and document daily, weekly, and monthly observations.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Attend IDT meetings and participate in care planning.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care workflows.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Track, audit, and manage caseload.
• Perform related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
