Job summary

MEP Health in Sparks Corner, MD is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine and specialized sonographic procedures, ensuring accurate imaging for patients of all ages. The role requires adherence to scanning protocols, proper equipment use, and maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic exams with high image quality, educating patients, maintaining a clean environment, and transferring images to PACS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program; registry eligible.
• Associate's degree in health sciences or related field preferred.
• ARDMS or AART (S) certification within 1 year of hire; physics registry completed.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic ultrasound exams, ensuring image quality and accuracy.
• Educate and prepare patients, obtain medical histories, and document exams.
• Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment by following infection control standards.
• Monitor and support ultrasound equipment and supplies, perform quality control.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure timely image documentation and transfer to PACS.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program

Associate's degree in health sciences or related field

ARDMS or AART (S) certification within 1 year of hire

Current BLS certification
