Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist I to perform routine and specialized sonographic procedures under general supervision. This role requires weekend day or weekend night shifts within a large Baltimore-Washington metro health system.

You will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, educate patients, document findings, and ensure safety and quality control in a busy clinical setting. ARDMS eligibility and BLS are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program registry eligible.
• Associate's degree in health sciences or related field (Preferred).
• Prior work experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for patients of all ages, ensuring accurate imaging and proper protocol adherence.
• Educate and prepare patients for procedures, obtain medical histories, document exams, and coordinate care with providers and families.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment by following infection prevention standards and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies, perform quality control, and support efficient departmental operations.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure timely image documentation and transfer to PACS for interpretation.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program registry eligible
