HCA Healthcare Reston Hospital Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist PRN to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. The role requires adherence to department protocols and timely completion of studies, with emphasis on patient privacy and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of program in Ultrasound Technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the AMA or documented equivalent education, experience, and training.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Responsibilities

• Performs all ultrasound procedures in strict accordance with department policies and procedures, complying with regulatory requirements.
• Communicates the nature of the procedure to the patient and answers questions clarifying the procedure.
• Maintains patient rights and privacy at all times.
• Reports significant issues to Technical Director.
• Documents and maintains all required department records.
• Perform diagnostic abdominal ultrasound studies within 45 minutes or less.
• Perform other diagnostic ultrasound procedures (thyroid, carotids) within 30 minutes of less.
• Perform diagnostic renal ultrasonography within 1 hour 30 minutes of less.
• Perform limited abdominal ultrasonography (gall bladder, aorta, renal) within 30 minutes of less.
