Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program; registry eligibility required.
• Associate’s degree in health sciences or related field preferred.
• Prior work experience not required.
• Licenses/Certifications: ARDMS or AART (S) within 1 year of hire; physics registry completed upon hire; BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic ultrasound exams for patients of all ages, ensuring accurate imaging, proper equipment use, patient identification, and adherence to protocols.
• Provide exceptional patient care by educating and preparing patients, obtaining medical histories, documenting exams, and coordinating with healthcare providers, patients, and families.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical setting by following infection control standards, disinfecting probes, assisting with sterile procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies, perform quality control, report issues, and support departmental efficiency.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, support staff and student education, uphold professional standards, and ensure timely image documentation and transfer to PACS for interpretation.
