Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist for the Breast Center. You will perform diagnostic breast ultrasound, operate imaging equipment, and assist physicians during procedures while maintaining room readiness.

Requirements include BCLS, ARDMS certification, SC licensure, and AMA‑approved ultrasound education; breast imaging experience is strongly preferred. This role supports flexible, as‑needed scheduling within a major cancer and imaging program.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Certification by ARDMS is required.
• Licensed to practice ultrasound in the state of South Carolina.
• Graduate of an AMA‑approved ultrasound program.
• Breast imaging experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures in the Breast Center per radiologist protocols.
• Operate ultrasound equipment, produce diagnostic quality images, and prepare the room.
• Assist physicians during invasive procedures as needed.
• Handle clerical duties, scheduling, transportation, and inventory as directed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Ultrasound Technologist In the Breast Center performs diagnostic procedures with the use of ultrasound, with protocols outlined by the radiologist. Operates diagnostic equipment, processes images, and prepares room with necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. The ultrasound technologist is responsible for selecting proper technical factors, producing diagnostic quality images, and competent in the operation of equipment. Assistance is also needed by the physicians during invasive procedures. Other duties include, but are not limited to, clerical, scheduling, transportation, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning and anything deemed necessary by the medical imaging management team. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

What qualifications you will need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support


• Certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)


• Licensed in the state of SC


• Graduate of an AMA approved Ultrasound school


• Previous Breast Imaging Experience strongly preferred
